International lawyer Evans Yaw Nyamekye has underscored the importance of investing in Ghana’s real estate sector in a safe, sensible, and responsible manner, urging investors to prioritise due diligence despite the country’s strong reputation for stability and investment security.
Speaking at the 3rd Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo, Nyamekye noted that Ghana continues to stand out globally as a stable and secure destination for investment. However, he cautioned that investors must take deliberate steps to protect themselves by engaging trusted professionals and verified platforms before committing funds.
“All over the globe, I focus on real estate in a safe, sensible way, because housing is key to what develops any nation,” Nyamekye said, highlighting the central role of real estate in national development.
He commended the organisers of the expo, Anna and Victoria Agyekum, for creating a credible platform that promotes transparency and confidence within Ghana’s property market. According to him, initiatives such as the Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo are critical in helping both local and diaspora investors make informed decisions.
Nyamekye encouraged participants and stakeholders to fully utilise the opportunities presented by the expo, stressing that education and expertise are essential components of successful real estate investment.
“Everyone needs to embrace the skills and the expertise provided by the property expo,” he said.
The London- and Ghana-based lawyer further emphasised the value of trust and credibility when navigating property investments, particularly in emerging markets.
“When you’re investing in real estate, it’s always important. It’s quite helpful to have a platform that is trusted, recognised, and qualified to help you achieve your aim,” he explained.
Nyamekye also urged attendees to take advantage of the networking opportunities offered by the event, encouraging collaboration, idea-sharing, and partnership-building among industry players.
“Let’s not forget, it’s not about what your country can do for you. It’s all about what you can do for your country,” he said. “With determination, we will get it right.”
While expressing optimism about the sector’s growth potential, he cautioned individuals with the appetite and access to invest in real estate to proceed carefully, noting that proper guidance and verification remain essential to avoiding costly mistakes.
The Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo is designed to position Ghana as a preferred destination for real estate investment while providing a reliable platform for developers, investors, financiers, and policymakers to connect and explore opportunities within the sector.
This year’s event was held under the theme “Resolving Obstacles in the Ghanaian Property Market”, reflecting ongoing efforts to address challenges such as affordability, access to finance, land acquisition, and regulatory clarity.
The expo has received government backing from key institutions, including the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the Ghana Diaspora Office, reinforcing its credibility and national importance.
Organisers have also announced plans to expand the initiative beyond Ghana’s borders. According to Ann Agyekum, preparations are underway to host the expo in Dubai in March 2026, with additional events planned for the United States, London, and Ghana.
“We want to encourage Ghanaians living abroad to invest back home,” she said, adding that the expansion aims to strengthen diaspora participation in Ghana’s real estate and development agenda.
With growing international interest and increased collaboration between public and private stakeholders, the Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo continues to position itself as a key driver of responsible real estate investment and sustainable growth in Ghana.
