The Egyptian Ambassador to Ghana, Wael Fathy Ahmed, has expressed strong support for Egypt’s participation in the Regal Influence Summit 2026, including an assurance of the in-person participation of the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. This endorsement follows a high-level diplomatic engagement with the summit’s main organizers in Accra.
On Friday, January 2, 2026, Rev. Kennedy Okosun, Executive Chairman of Krif Foundation Ghana Limited, led a delegation to the Egyptian Embassy in Accra, where they met Ambassador Wael Fathy Ahmed to discuss Egypt’s involvement in the Regal Influence Summit 2026, scheduled for January 23–25, 2026.
The Regal Influence Summit is designed to bring together government officials, entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders from across Africa and beyond to explore pathways for economic cooperation, leadership development, and sustainable growth.
During the meeting, Rev. Okosun formally invited the ambassador, alongside Egyptian government representatives and private-sector leaders, to participate in the summit’s activities. He emphasized the summit’s vision of building strong bridges between emerging economies and creating credible platforms for dialogue on trade, investment, and sustainable development.
Ambassador Ahmed welcomed the invitation, describing the summit as a timely and strategic platform to showcase Egypt’s economic strengths and innovation potential. He highlighted priority sectors such as agriculture, technology, tourism, and manufacturing as key areas ripe for international collaboration and investment.
“We see this summit as a unique opportunity to present Egypt’s growing economic agenda and to establish partnerships that benefit both our nations,” Ambassador Ahmed noted, according to officials present at the meeting.
He further explained that Egypt’s diversified economy, coupled with ongoing economic reforms and attractive investment incentives, positions the country as a competitive force within both African and global markets. Agriculture and agribusiness, in particular, were identified as sectors with significant untapped potential for mutual gains through cross-border cooperation.
The ambassador assured Rev. Okosun of his commitment to actively engage relevant Egyptian authorities and business networks to encourage broad participation in the summit. This, he said, would include outreach to private-sector leaders and government agencies, while also facilitating direct connections between summit organizers and key Egyptian decision-makers.
“I will do my best to encourage Egyptian business leaders and representatives to attend the Regal Influence Summit,” Ambassador Ahmed stated, underscoring Egypt’s diplomatic support for deeper economic engagement.
Rev. Okosun expressed optimism that Egypt’s participation would significantly enhance the summit’s international appeal and enrich discussions on trade, innovation, and cross-border collaboration. He noted that the involvement of Egyptian entrepreneurs and policymakers would provide valuable insights to strengthen economic ties among Africa’s emerging markets.
“The participation of Egyptian delegates would not only elevate the quality of dialogue at the summit but also help forge long-lasting partnerships that advance our shared goals,” Rev. Okosun added.
Egypt and Ghana share a longstanding history of cooperation and continue to deepen bilateral and multilateral relations in trade, technology, education, and cultural exchange. Recent diplomatic engagements have further strengthened these ties, with Ambassador Wael Fathy Ahmed actively involved in discussions on vocational education, technical training, and joint initiatives aimed at workforce development and capacity building.
Both parties described the meeting as constructive and forward-looking, with expectations of continued engagement as preparations for the Regal Influence Summit intensify in the coming weeks. Officials emphasized that sustained dialogue would be essential to maximizing the summit’s impact and ensuring Egyptian participation translates into tangible opportunities for cooperation and growth.
As Accra prepares to host the summit later this month, the endorsement from the Egyptian ambassador marks a significant milestone toward deeper continental engagement, highlighting the potential for stronger Egypt–Ghana collaboration in commerce, leadership, and innovation.
