Ghanaian luxury fragrance house Maison Yusif has launched its newest premium perfume, The Beast, underscoring its ambition to establish Ghana as a major player in the global luxury fragrance industry.
The official unveiling took place at the Pelican Hotel in Accra on Saturday, July 25, where fragrance lovers, customers, industry players and invited guests gathered to witness the introduction of the latest addition to the company’s growing collection of handcrafted perfumes.
Positioned as a Parfum Extrême, The Beast is crafted for individuals who exude confidence, leadership and determination. The fragrance blends strength with elegance and is designed to leave a memorable impression, reflecting the bold personality of those who wear it.
Handcrafted in Accra, the perfume also represents Maison Yusif’s commitment to producing world-class fragrances that celebrate African creativity, craftsmanship and luxury without compromising international standards.
Guests at the launch experienced an interactive fragrance session, where they were introduced to the inspiration, composition and distinctive character of The Beast. The event also featured testimonials from customers, who spoke about their experiences with Maison Yusif’s fragrances, highlighting their quality, uniqueness and lasting performance.
Speaking after the launch, Founder of Maison Yusif, Yusif Jnr Meizongo, said the company’s vision has always been to build an internationally recognised African luxury fragrance brand.
“Since we started, so far we have been targeting international, and it has been great for us, and I think Ghanaians also support its exposure.”
He said the company’s long-term mission is to elevate Africa’s presence within the global luxury fragrance market.
“Maison Yusif wants to take over the world and represent Africa.”
According to Mr. Meizongo, the brand is focused on creating an authentic African identity instead of following trends established elsewhere.
“Honestly, I’m sick and tired of replicating the white people in terms of everything that we do. So here we’re trying to take a new step to let the world know that Africa is what it is and Africa is the next big thing.”
He stressed that Maison Yusif is committed to charting its own path through originality and craftsmanship.
“Maison Yusif is not a competition. We’re doing it in our own race. We’re a royal fragrance house, truly niche, made in Ghana, by a Ghanaian, from Ghana and in Ghana.”
Expressing optimism about the future of the company, Mr. Meizongo said the brand is preparing for significant expansion over the coming years.
“In the next five to 10 years, we look to conquer Africa and the world with our royal fragrance.”
Explaining how the latest fragrance got its name, he said the company wanted a scent that reflected authority and confidence.
“We wanted to create a fragrance that was very dominant, and my creative team and I were looking for a very dominant name, and we came across The Beast. I’m not the only one who comes up with the names, or the scent, etc.”
With the introduction of The Beast, Maison Yusif continues to strengthen its position in Ghana’s growing luxury fragrance industry while advancing its vision of taking African-made perfumes to consumers across the continent and the rest of the world.
