DVLA Commissions New Ultra-Modern Regional Office in Nahrman

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art regional office in Nahrman, Greater Accra Region, replacing the former facility at 37. The opening of the Nahrman office is part of DVLA’s broader commitment to elevating customer service and maintaining best practices in driver and vehicle licensing. These efforts align with the authority’s goal to promote both road safety and environmental sustainability.

 

In his address at the inauguration ceremony, Kwasi Agyeman Busia, the Chief Executive of DVLA, expressed pride in the new regional office, describing it as a hub of innovation. According to him, this facility is poised to redefine service delivery, with the authority upholding its responsibilities with integrity and pride. The DVLA’s comprehensive digital transformation over the last seven years has been a key factor in improving its services.

By leveraging cutting-edge technology, the authority has significantly reduced processing times, minimized errors, and enhanced data accuracy, all aimed at providing better service to citizens.

 

Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, who also spoke at the event, praised the DVLA for its remarkable evolution from a largely manual and time-consuming institution to one that embraces modern technology and innovation. She emphasized that the commissioning of this new office is a reflection of the government’s broader vision to strengthen public institutions and meet the growing demands of the public.

 

She further noted that in today’s fast-paced world, efficiency, accessibility, and speed are crucial. The new DVLA regional office will not only serve as a central hub for innovation but also enhance the quality of services provided. This development ensures that Ghana’s systems keep up with global standards in the transport sector. Osei-Opare also highlighted the vital role transportation plays in Ghana’s economy. Deputy Minister for Transport, Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli Esq., representing the Minister of Transport at the event, echoed similar sentiments. The government aims to ensure that these services are efficient, accessible, and meet the needs of both citizens and businesses. He described the facility as a transformative turning point for the road transport industry, particularly in the areas of driver’s license administration and vehicle registration.

DVLA Board Chairman Frank Davis Esq. spoke about the authority’s strides in introducing customer-friendly innovations. These include the launch of an online service platform that allows clients to access services from their homes, reducing the need for physical visits to DVLA offices. The introduction of mobile services and satellite offices in underserved areas has further expanded the authority’s reach, making it easier for busy clients to access services without having to travel long distances.

 

Davis also urged DVLA staff to maintain the highest ethical standards in their work. He stressed the importance of thoroughly examining each applicant and vehicle before issuing any licenses or certificates. The new regional office is not just a facility for service delivery but a symbol of the authority’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and professionalism.
