Afrikicks Hosts 4th Annual Gala in Hollywood

Afrikicks, a Los Angeles–based nonprofit charity organization led by its President and Founder, Mr. Oumarou Idrissa, has successfully hosted its 4th Annual Gala in Hollywood, California, bringing together global changemakers, creatives, and philanthropists for an elegant night of purpose and giving.

Held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., the prestigious event was themed UBUNTU – “I Am Because We Are,” highlighting unity, shared humanity, and collective responsibility. The gala reaffirmed Afrikicks’ commitment to uplifting underserved communities and empowering children across Africa.

This year’s gala honored an acclaimed actress and philanthropist recognized for using her platform to empower women and strengthen communities through advocacy and storytelling. The evening celebrated leaders who embody creativity, compassion, and service in line with Afrikicks’ humanitarian mission.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Oumarou Idrissa highlighted the far-reaching impact of Afrikicks’ humanitarian work over the years.

“Afrikicks was born from the belief that every child deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope,” he said. “Through the years, we have distributed millions of shoes and school bags to children across Niger, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Benin. Beyond this, we have also drilled boreholes in deprived communities in Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Niger to provide access to clean and safe drinking water. This gala is not just a celebration, but a reminder that when we come together in the true spirit of Ubuntu, we can change lives and build stronger communities for the next generation.”

The glamorous evening featured a live performance by Rotimi, with music provided by DJ Jae Murphy, creating a vibrant atmosphere for guests. The event was hosted by actress Marsai Martin, whose presence added inspiration and youthful energy to the night.

Notable personalities in attendance included LisaRaye McCoy, A’ja Wilson, Cicely Gay, and D’Zhane Parker. During the ceremony, D’Zhane Parker and other distinguished individuals were presented with citations in recognition of their significant contributions and continued support for the mission and humanitarian work of Afrikicks.

The 4th Annual Afrikicks Gala once again reinforced the power of collective action, reflecting the true meaning of Ubuntu and Afrikicks’ enduring commitment to transforming lives, one child and one community at a time.
