Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Confident in NPP’s Victory for December 2024 Election

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed strong confidence in the party’s chances of securing victory in the December 2024 general election. During a gathering of party supporters and traders at the Okaishie Market on Tuesday, October 29, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the NPP’s accomplishments as the basis for his optimism, stressing that the party’s achievements across multiple sectors have earned the support and trust of Ghanaians.

As Dr. Bawumia addressed the crowd, he reflected on the NPP’s track record and the vision they had shared with the country when they initially took office. “What I see based on all the places I have been indicates that Insha Allah, the NPP will win the 2024 election come December 7. We are going to win because of the work we have done,” he stated, expressing his belief that the efforts of the party have laid a solid foundation for their anticipated electoral success.

One of the flagship programs he highlighted was the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which he identified as a key promise fulfilled by the NPP. Dr. Bawumia recalled how, before the NPP came into office, the idea of implementing free SHS was met with skepticism from opponents, including the then-president, who argued that such a policy was unrealistic. “At the time we made the promise, the then-president told us that we were deceiving Ghanaians. He said it was not possible. But I said that it was possible,” Dr. Bawumia affirmed, emphasizing the party’s commitment to delivering on its promises.

The Free SHS policy has become a cornerstone of the NPP’s educational initiatives, providing accessible secondary education for thousands of Ghanaian students. According to Dr. Bawumia, this policy is just one example of how the NPP has taken bold steps to meet the needs of the people and improve access to essential services, setting the party apart as a government that delivers on its commitments.

The gathering at Okaishie Market was part of a larger campaign tour in Accra as Dr. Bawumia resumed his election activities in key markets within the Ablekuma South and Odododiodoo constituencies. His first stop was at the Tuesday Market in Ablekuma South, where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from a large crowd of party supporters and traders who had gathered to hear him speak.

Dr. Bawumia’s tour of the markets offered him an opportunity to connect directly with voters, particularly traders and small business owners who form a significant part of the city’s economic backbone. In his interactions, he assured them that the NPP remains dedicated to fostering an environment that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognizing the vital role these businesses play in sustaining the national economy.

As he continued his speech, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the NPP has always prioritized development initiatives designed to benefit the everyday Ghanaian. He pointed out that the current administration has worked diligently to improve infrastructure, stabilize the economy, and implement social intervention programs that enhance the quality of life for citizens. These achievements, he argued, reflect the NPP’s commitment to progress and innovation, which has positively impacted many lives across Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the government’s efforts in addressing issues related to healthcare, agriculture, and digitization, areas that he believes have seen transformative growth under the NPP’s leadership. From initiatives that aim to modernize healthcare facilities to programs that support farmers and promote digital solutions, he said these achievements speak to the NPP’s broader goal of driving sustainable development. The Vice President asserted that these changes are more than just policies—they are practical solutions aimed at improving the everyday experiences of Ghanaians and preparing the country for a prosperous future.

His engagement with the public extended beyond speeches, as Dr. Bawumia took time to speak with traders and residents, listening to their concerns and acknowledging the challenges they face. He assured them that the NPP understands the difficulties posed by the current economic climate and is dedicated to implementing strategies that will foster financial stability and growth. This commitment, he added, is part of why the party is confident in its electoral prospects, as they have consistently demonstrated a willingness to listen and respond to the needs of the people.

Dr. Bawumia’s confidence in the NPP’s success was evident throughout the tour. He noted that the support he has witnessed across the country both in urban centers and rural areas indicates that Ghanaians recognize the NPP’s accomplishments and appreciate their vision for the future. The Vice President’s remarks reflected a clear belief that the NPP has earned the trust of the electorate through tangible results, which he hopes will translate into a win at the polls in December.

As the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia’s message to the people of Ghana is one of hope and continuity. He assured the public that if the NPP is given another mandate, they will continue to build on the progress made, advancing policies that are inclusive and beneficial to all. Dr. Bawumia concluded his address with a rallying call to supporters, urging them to mobilize and work together to secure a decisive victory for the NPP, which he believes will usher in another phase of development and stability for Ghana.

The NPP’s commitment to delivering on its promises and driving meaningful change, as expressed by Dr. Bawumia, sets the tone for the upcoming election. With a focus on continuity, development, and accountability, the party aims to reinforce its position as the party of choice for Ghanaians, promising a future grounded in stability, growth, and improved quality of life for all citizens.
