The Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has called on leaders to consciously prioritize the development of future strategic thinkers and innovators.
He made the call while addressing participants on the opening day of the 13th Jospong Leadership Conference (JLC) held on Monday, January 12, 2026. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 90:1–8, Dr. Siaw Agyepong framed the conference theme, “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today,” as a timely reminder of the responsibility leaders bear in shaping the next generation.
“Leadership is about responsibility; it is about preparing the next generation with capacity, strength, and passion,” he stated.
Describing the JLC as a crucial platform for growth, he encouraged participants to fully engage in the conference sessions.
“This conference is a leadership laboratory — a platform for corporate learning where we discuss strategy, culture, performance, innovation, and people development,” he emphasized.
He stressed that leadership excellence must be intentional, noting that emerging leaders do not develop by chance.
“The next generation of strategic thinkers, innovators, and managing directors must not emerge accidentally; it must be intentional and intentionally developed,” he added.
Reflecting on the Jospong Group’s journey from a modest printing business in 1995 to a multinational conglomerate operating in over twenty-five African countries and beyond, Dr. Siaw Agyepong linked the group’s past achievements to the importance of future preparedness.
He noted that sustained success depends on nurturing leadership capable of adapting to evolving markets, technologies, and business environments.
“If we embrace this business, then our group will continue to strive for excellence in countless changing markets, technologies, or environments,” he asserted.
The Executive Chairman also expressed gratitude to , government officials, private sector partners, and stakeholders for their continued support.
“I extend my appreciation to all who have contributed to our growth. I thank the entire staff of Jospong Group, private sector partners, government agencies, and district assemblies for their commitment and support,” he said.
In a separate address, marketing and business strategy expert highlighted the key drivers of sustainable business success.
Speaking on the topic “Innovating from Within – Entrepreneurship and Creative Leadership,” he underscored integrity as the foundation of trust and long-term business viability.
He also emphasized the importance of innovation, noting that creativity does not necessarily depend on huge capital.
“We need new innovation so we can be sharp. Innovation doesn’t start with five billion dollars; it starts with fresh ideas. Resourcefulness matters more than resources,” Prof. Hinson remarked.
He encouraged business leaders to develop courage, identify market opportunities, and train their teams to think entrepreneurially. Highlighting the power of collaboration, he added:
“We grow through partnerships. Nobody does anything alone anymore.”
He urged leaders to value external perspectives, invest in people, and build strong entrepreneurial cultures within their organizations.
The Jospong Leadership Conference is an annual event organized by the Jospong Group and is dedicated to strengthening leadership capacity across sectors. The 2026 edition is themed “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”
