The 18th Edition of the Ghana Property Awards brought a vibrant glow to the Accra International Conference Centre on 29th November 2025, as industry leaders, policymakers, developers, financiers and innovators gathered to celebrate nearly two decades of excellence in Ghana’s real estate sector. The ceremony once again reaffirmed its position as the nation’s most credible platform for honouring distinction across the entire property and construction value chain.
Director of the Ghana Property Awards, Madam Irene Agyenkwa, opened the evening with a powerful call for innovation, resilience and forward-thinking leadership in the sector. She praised developers, estate managers, surveyors and service providers for driving progress in Ghana’s dynamic property landscape despite global economic pressures. Madam Agyenkwa noted the growing demand for both residential and commercial developments and stressed the vital role of technology and strategic land banking in steering Ghana toward sustainable national development.
The Chairman of the event and CEO of PS Global Ltd, Mr Patrick Ebo Bonful, delivered an insightful address focusing on the future of efficient land banking. He applauded the Lands Commission for its ongoing efforts in digitising land records, enhancing accessibility and improving trust in the land acquisition process. However, he acknowledged persistent challenges including litigation, tenure insecurity, land use conflicts and fragmentation. Mr Bonful reiterated that land banking is essential not only for economic advancement but also for environmental stewardship and the development of key social facilities such as schools, hospitals and affordable housing initiatives.
Representing the Minister for Works and Housing and Water Resources was the Public Relations Officer of the Rent Control Department, Mr Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu, who delivered the Minister’s message. He reinforced government’s commitment to prioritising land banking as a cornerstone of the national housing agenda. Describing land as the backbone of infrastructure development, Mr Kporsu urged industry players, traditional leaders, government agencies and investors to view land as a shared national asset. He emphasised the need for deeper collaboration to ensure orderly, inclusive and sustainable growth across the country.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the night was the presentation of awards to institutions and individuals whose contributions have significantly shaped Ghana’s housing and property development space. Shelbbie Homes was celebrated as the Upcoming Property Brand of the Year, recognising its rapid growth and quality delivery. Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu of Afro Arab Properties received the prestigious Young Property Entrepreneur of the Year 2025, applauded for his visionary leadership and consistent commitment to expanding access to affordable and modern housing.
