Dr. Kingsley Antwi-Boasiako, General Manager of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), has been honoured as the 2025 Marketing World Awards (MWA) Public Sector PR Leader of the Year – Maritime.
The announcement was made at the 14th edition of the Marketing World Awards, a distinguished pan-African platform that celebrates individuals and brands championing excellence in marketing and strategic communications across the continent. This year’s ceremony was held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Thursday, November 27.
According to the award citation, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako was recognised for his exceptional leadership in shaping GPHA’s public image, advancing transparent and timely communication, and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement within the maritime industry. The organisers noted that his professional influence has deepened public trust in Ghana’s port sector while enhancing the visibility of GPHA’s strategic initiatives locally and internationally.
Over the years, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako has distinguished himself as one of Ghana’s leading public affairs practitioners, consistently highlighting the relevance of key public sector institutions and strengthening their brand reputation through effective communication.
Before his appointment as GM of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at GPHA, he served as the Public Affairs Manager for Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). He later joined GPHA as the Marketing and Public Affairs Manager for Takoradi Port, where he played a pivotal role in promoting the port’s activities and visibility.
In collaboration with the GPHA Marketing and Corporate Affairs team, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako led impactful communication initiatives on sustainable community development—efforts that contributed to GPHA winning the IAPH Sustainability Award in Community Building at the International Ports and Harbours (IAPH) Conference in Japan this year.
His past recognitions include the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Ashanti Regional Media Excellence Award (2023) and the CENBA Africa Outstanding Industry Leader Award in the same year, further cementing his reputation as an influential figure in public sector communications.
