The Jospong Group of Companies has extended its annual gesture of goodwill to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, with a donation of bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, and an undisclosed amount of money during the Eid celebration.
The presentation, which took place at the residence of the National Chief Imam, forms part of the company’s long-standing tradition of supporting the Muslim community during the holy period.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Ms. Emma Adwoa Appiaa Osei-Duah, Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Zoomlion Ghana Limited, said the gesture reflects the Group’s appreciation of the Chief Imam’s continuous efforts in promoting peace and national cohesion, particularly during Ramadan.
She noted that the donation was also a way of celebrating with Muslim communities across the country, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and shared values during significant religious observances.
Ms. Osei-Duah further revealed that the visit coincided with the birthday of the Executive Chairman of the Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong. She added that special prayers were offered by the Chief Imam for his continued success, wisdom, and guidance in leadership.
Beyond the donation, the company used the occasion to reiterate its commitment to environmental sustainability. It urged Ghanaians to maintain clean and green surroundings, stressing that environmental responsibility remains a shared national duty.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Latif, Protocol Officer at the National Chief Imam’s office, expressed deep appreciation to the Group and its leadership for what he described as more than two decades of consistent support.
He commended the Group’s dedication to humanitarian efforts and prayed for continued blessings and direction for Dr. Agyepong and the entire organization.
Alhaji Latif also highlighted Ghana’s strong tradition of peaceful co-existence and religious harmony, noting that the country remains a model of unity where Christians and Muslims live and work together in mutual respect.
He emphasized that such acts of generosity strengthen interfaith relations and reinforce the spirit of national unity, especially during important religious celebrations.
The donation underscores the Jospong Group’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility, interfaith collaboration, and national development, while reinforcing its role in promoting both environmental sustainability and community welfare.
