Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I, the Founder of the Council of International Chambers of Commerce for West Africa and Minister of Education for Montessori Model United Nations-West Africa, has been celebrated for his exceptional contributions to education. This recognition marks the second time in November 2024 that his efforts have been acknowledged. Earlier this month, the Ga North Educational Directorate honoured King Oyanka for his extensive support in advancing education within the municipality.
As the Education Emissary for Montessori Model United Nations-West Africa, King Oyanka has played a key role in addressing educational challenges in Ga North, earning him widespread admiration. On Friday, November 22, 2024, the Ga West Educational Directorate also acknowledged his efforts at the Afrifa Mensah Teachers’ Awards ceremony, which celebrated individuals and educators who have made significant contributions to the assembly’s vision and mission.
King Oyanka’s contributions to education include facilitating the construction of a large assembly hall for the Ga West Municipal Educational Directorate, introducing scholarships and international training opportunities for teachers in the municipality, and sponsoring reading and spelling competitions to enhance literacy and academic performance among students.
In his acceptance speech, King Oyanka expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour, emphasizing the importance of selfless service. “Sometimes it pays to offer service from the heart, as no one knows who is observing from afar,” he remarked. He urged teachers to continue their impactful work, recognizing their crucial role in shaping the future.
King Oyanka also commended the Director of Education for Ga West, describing him as a visionary leader whose innovative efforts have significantly elevated educational standards in the municipality. To further motivate educators, King Oyanka pledged to sponsor a category in future awards ceremonies, offering an all-expenses-paid trip for the winner.
