Krif Foundation’s Regal Influence Summit a Timely Intervention for Africa — Dr. Kate Quartey-Papafio

Renowned industrialist and founder of the Reroy Group, Dr. Kate Quartey-Papafio, has described the upcoming Regal Influence Summit by the Krif Foundation as a timely and much-needed platform for Africa to re-examine its development direction.

The three-day summit, scheduled to take place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, will bring together Heads of State, First Ladies, traditional leaders, policymakers, CEOs, innovators, and thought leaders. The event is themed “Commanding Influence, Shaping Nations,” and is designed to ignite fresh conversations on leadership, collaboration, impact, and legacy-building across the continent.

Speaking in an interview with the foundation’s media team ahead of the event, Dr. Quartey-Papafio noted that Africa’s persistent development challenges call for unity of purpose among its leaders—something she believes the summit seeks to spark. She expressed concern that the continent continues to lag because leaders often “labour in vain individually,” instead of working collectively with shared goals and priorities.

“The first thing is to hold hands together. We are all Africans, and Africa belongs to Africans. Until we come together, we will all be doing our own thing,” she emphasized.

Her call for unity echoed a broader concern about the gradual erosion of core values and ethical discipline that once anchored African societies. She insisted that Africa has the potential to thrive, but only through leadership that embraces efficiency, honesty, and long-term planning dedicated to true transformation.

According to her, sustainable national development also requires leadership that models integrity and inspires collective participation. “It’s about how you share your vision and get people to move with you. You can’t drive it all by yourself. That is why teamwork matters,” she added.

Reflecting on her own industrial journey, Dr. Quartey-Papafio underscored the need to empower Africa’s young population, particularly young women, to take up roles in sectors traditionally dominated by men. She revealed that her company already operates a dedicated programme to train young women in technical and industrial skills—an effort she believes must be scaled across the continent.

She stressed that the conversation around entrepreneurship in Africa must shift, explaining that success is not solely dependent on capital but on discipline, vision, resilience, and strategic preparation.

Meanwhile, the Regal Influence Summit, which will also feature the Regal Influence Leadership Awards, continues to attract strong enthusiasm from high-profile personalities across Africa.
