The Patriotic Youth Front (PYF), a group aligned with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly condemned the attempted arrest of Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour at his residence in Accra earlier this afternoon.
In a statement released by the group, PYF accused the Mahama-led NDC government of using state security agencies to intimidate Hon. Rev. Fordjour and, by extension, the Minority in Parliament. According to the group, this is a deliberate attempt to suppress the truth regarding the serious allegations surrounding the controversial “Cocaine Airmed Saga.”
PYF issued a stern warning to those currently wielding political power, reminding them that political office is temporary. The group stated emphatically that the power being exercised today may not last beyond 2028.
The group further urged the NDC government to exercise utmost circumspection in its treatment of whistleblowers, stressing the importance of protecting individuals who speak out in the national interest.
Additionally, PYF expressed its support for growing calls from concerned Ghanaians and the Minority for the establishment of a bi-partisan commission of inquiry to thoroughly investigate the cocaine-related allegations and uncover the truth behind the matter.
“We stand firmly with Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour and the Minority in their efforts to uphold accountability and ensure that Ghana remains a drug-free nation,” the statement concluded.
