NBA champion Serge Ibaka, together with the President and Founder of the Los Angeles–based non-profit charity organization Afrikicks, Oumarou Idrissa, held a high-level engagement in Morocco aimed at advancing football development across Africa. The meeting brought together key football stakeholders to explore impactful partnerships focused on identifying, nurturing, and empowering young talents across the continent.

The delegation met with the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, and CAF Executive Director Sarah Mukuna. Discussions focused on strategic collaborations to strengthen grassroots football structures, create sustainable talent development pathways, and provide young African players with access to professional opportunities both within Africa and internationally.

As part of the visit, Serge Ibaka, Oumarou Idrissa, Sarah Mukuna, and the football administrators watched the international encounter between the Senegal national football team and the Egypt national football team at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco. The match showcased the depth of talent, passion, and competitiveness that define African football, reinforcing the importance of sustained investment in youth development initiatives.

In a symbolic moment reflecting unity between global sports icons and African football leadership, CAF President Patrice Motsepe presented Serge Ibaka with a football personally signed by him. The gesture underscored mutual respect and a shared commitment to promoting sports development and creating life-changing opportunities for young Africans through football.

Serge Ibaka emphasized the importance of structured programs that integrate sports, education, and mentorship to empower the next generation. Afrikicks, under the leadership of Oumarou Idrissa, reaffirmed its mission to use football as a tool for social impact while connecting African talents to global opportunities. CAF Executive Director Sarah Mukuna and GFA President Kurt Okraku welcomed the initiative, noting that partnerships involving athletes, non-profit organizations, and football authorities are essential to the long-term growth and sustainability of football across the continent.
