Accra, Ghana, May 29, 2026 – MobileMoney Fintech LTD (MMFL) has launched a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting six hundred (600) micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with practical training in financial literacy, digital payments, credit readiness, and business growth.
Dubbed “Wo Nkɔsoɔ,” the initiative seeks to equip entrepreneurs with the skills needed to improve record-keeping, manage cash flow, develop savings habits, and position themselves for access to credit, insurance, and future investment opportunities.
The programme targets operators within the informal sector, including women-led businesses, fashion designers, dressmakers, tailors, hairdressers, and farmers, many of whom play a critical role in supporting households and communities despite having limited access to formal financial services.
To ensure the programme’s success, MMFL is collaborating with Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), Kola Market, and national associations representing the various beneficiary groups. Together, they are providing hands-on training in digital banking, fraud prevention, business formalisation, and credit readiness.
Speaking at the launch in Kumasi during the National Conference of the Ghana Dressmakers and Tailors Association, Charles Osei Owusu, Senior Manager for Business Development at MobileMoney Fintech LTD, said the initiative was inspired by the daily challenges faced by entrepreneurs who work tirelessly but often lack the financial systems required for sustainable growth.
“We engage business owners who have the talent, determination, and customer base to grow, yet many still lack access to the financial tools they need to scale. This initiative is designed to bridge that gap with practical support tailored to their needs,” he said.
According to him, MMFL views financial inclusion as more than simply providing access to money transfers. He explained that true financial inclusion involves access to savings, credit, insurance, and the development of a stronger financial identity for everyday Ghanaians.
Launched in Kumasi, the programme will be rolled out in Accra, Takoradi, and Tamale later this year through four trade-specific training sessions designed to reach approximately 600 entrepreneurs nationwide.
MMFL says the initiative aligns with its broader commitment to building Ghana’s digital future while creating growth opportunities for individuals, businesses, and communities through innovative financial solutions.
