MTN Ghana Foundation Reminds Prospective Bright Scholarship Applicants Of May 31 Deadline

Accra, May 29, 2026 – The MTN Ghana Foundation has reminded prospective applicants that submissions for its 2026 Bright Scholarship Programme will close on May 31, 2026.

Eligible applicants who meet all the requirements are encouraged to submit their applications through the scholarship portal at scholarship.mtn.com.gh before the deadline.

The MTN Bright Scholarship is open to continuing students pursuing a first degree at any public tertiary institution in Ghana, as well as students enrolled in vocational and technical skills training programmes. Applicants must be Ghanaian, demonstrate good conduct, and possess an excellent academic record.

Teachers pursuing first degrees and postgraduate degrees in STEM-related programmes are also encouraged to take note of the application deadline and submit their applications on time.

The scholarship package covers tuition fees, accommodation, a stipend for books, and a device for each beneficiary, helping to ease the financial burden on deserving students.

Commenting on the scholarship programme, Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, said it is deeply fulfilling to see young people realise their educational aspirations through the Foundation’s support.

She noted that many students would have had their dreams cut short without MTN’s intervention and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving lives through sustainable initiatives.

“As a responsible organisation committed to improving lives, MTN will continue to do more to ensure everyone benefits from the opportunities of a modern, connected life,” she said.

She further stated that MTN had doubled the number of scholarship beneficiaries for two consecutive years in response to growing demand and expressed confidence that the intervention would significantly reduce the number of students forced to abandon their education due to financial challenges.

The MTN Bright Scholarship was launched in 2018 as part of a commitment MTN made to Ghanaians during the commemoration of its 20th anniversary in 2016. Through the MTN Ghana Foundation, the company pledged to award 300 scholarships over a three-year period.

Following the programme’s positive impact during its initial phase, the Foundation renewed the initiative in 2021 as part of activities marking MTN’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
