Ga Mantse Launches Sacred Crown Awards to Promote African Heritage, Spirituality and Wellness

The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has officially launched the maiden edition of the Sacred Crown Awards, an initiative aimed at celebrating and promoting African heritage, spirituality and wellness.

The launch ceremony, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Friday, June 5, 2026, brought together traditional authorities, religious leaders, wellness practitioners, cultural advocates and members of the public who share a passion for preserving Africa’s rich identity and values.

Speaking at the unveiling of the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 logo, the Ga Mantse underscored the importance of preserving Africa’s cultural heritage and ensuring that future generations appreciate the traditions, spirituality and indigenous knowledge that have defined the continent for centuries.

According to King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Africa possesses invaluable treasures ranging from its customs, festivals, royal institutions, indigenous healing practices, music, dance and spiritual wisdom to the values that continue to shape communities across the continent.

He noted that these gifts, handed down by generations of ancestors, must be protected and celebrated rather than allowed to disappear in the face of modern influences.

The Ga Mantse explained that the Sacred Crown Awards was established under his royal patronage to recognize individuals, institutions, communities, traditional leaders, spiritual leaders, wellness practitioners, healers and changemakers whose work continues to promote African values and positively impact society.

He said the award scheme is built on three key pillars: African Heritage, Spirituality and Wellness, which he believes are critical to building stronger communities and fostering a more united and confident Africa.

“African heritage connects us to our roots, traditions, languages, customs and history. Spirituality teaches discipline, humility, service and reverence for the divine, while wellness focuses on the complete well-being of the body, mind, soul and spirit,” he stated.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed confidence that the Sacred Crown Awards would become a significant platform for celebrating those who dedicate their lives to preserving Africa’s cultural and spiritual identity.

He further called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, corporate organizations, sponsors and the general public to support the initiative and help position it as a respected national platform that promotes unity, healing and cultural dignity.

Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Pilot Queen Princess Duncan, described the initiative as a sacred vision designed to celebrate Africa’s identity while restoring pride in the continent’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Princess Duncan, who also serves as Deputy CEO of COA Research and Manufacturing Limited and a Board Member of the COA Global Peace Mission, said the Sacred Crown Awards is more than an awards ceremony.

According to her, it is a movement aimed at recognizing individuals and institutions that continue to protect and promote African values, traditions, spirituality and indigenous knowledge systems.

Known traditionally as Nana Akua Ahenesima I, the Nkosuahemaa of the Fante Sekyredumasi Traditional Area, she explained that the three pillars of the initiative reflect Africa’s rich cultural traditions, spiritual consciousness and indigenous healing practices.

She revealed that the vision behind the awards was inspired by the symbolic code “ITNMFO,” which stands for Inspiration, Tradition, Nations, Minds, Faith and Oneness.

Princess Duncan said the concept serves as a reminder of Africa’s wisdom, healing traditions and the need for unity among its people.

“The Sacred Crown Awards is about celebrating our identity and ensuring that future generations appreciate the values that make Africa unique,” she said.

Also speaking at the event, Enoch Dawuni Ninsaw, representing Executive Senators International School, commended the initiative for its focus on promoting African culture among young people.

He said the school’s participation in the launch reflects its commitment to teaching Ghanaian culture, traditions and values to students.

According to him, preserving cultural identity has become increasingly important at a time when social media and foreign influences continue to shape the perspectives of many young people.

He stressed that instilling Ghanaian values in the younger generation remains essential to preserving the country’s heritage and ensuring that future leaders remain connected to their roots.

The launch attracted several prominent personalities from both traditional and religious circles, demonstrating widespread support for the initiative.

Among those in attendance were the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Founder and General Overseer of Parliament Chapel International, Bishop Francis Amoako Attah, Founder and General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, Prophet Fire Oja, leader of the Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry, as well as traditional rulers, chiefs, queen mothers and other distinguished guests.

Organisers believe the Sacred Crown Awards will become a major platform for honouring excellence in African heritage, spirituality and wellness while inspiring future generations to preserve and celebrate the continent’s rich cultural legacy.
