Applications Open For Martell Swift Academy In Accra

Martell Swift Academy has opened applications for its Accra edition, offering emerging music creatives and professionals an opportunity to benefit from mentorship, practical training, industry exposure and collaboration as the pan-African talent development platform expands its reach across the continent.

Created by Martell and curated by Africa House, the Martell Swift Academy programme is open to emerging artists, music producers, songwriters and music industry professionals based in Accra. The initiative aims to equip participants with the professional guidance, practical skills and industry connections needed to advance their careers in the music and creative sectors.

The Accra edition forms part of the platform’s wider rollout across Africa, following its inaugural edition in Nairobi, Kenya. Through the programme, organisers hope to create opportunities for emerging talent to develop professionally while connecting with established figures and other creatives working across the music industry.

The Nairobi edition brought together 25 emerging creatives and professionals from different parts of the music ecosystem. Participants benefited from mentorship, practical learning, industry access and opportunities to strengthen their creative capabilities.

With the Martell Swift Academy now moving to Accra, the initiative is extending these opportunities to emerging music professionals in Ghana’s capital, providing a platform for talent development, knowledge-sharing and professional networking.

The academy welcomes applications from emerging artists, producers, songwriters and professionals working in different areas of the music industry. Eligible applicants must be based in Accra and demonstrate an interest in developing their careers within the music and creative sectors.

Selected participants will take part in a programme designed to combine practical learning, mentorship, industry access, collaboration and continued creative development. The activities are intended to help participants improve their skills, understand the demands of the music business and identify opportunities for professional growth.

Applications for the Accra edition opened on October 27, 2026, and will close on November 6, 2026. Interested applicants are required to complete the online application form through the official Martell Swift Academy website.

Interested applicants can apply here: https://www.martell.com/en/swift-academy-accra/

Application and participation are free of charge, although terms and conditions apply. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the requirements and submit their applications before the November 6 deadline.

One of the key features of the Martell Swift Academy is its focus on providing support tailored to the professional development needs of participants. Each selected participant will receive professional tools suited to their development needs, direct mentorship from industry experts, access to a network of peers and potential collaborators, and a grant.

The combination of mentorship, practical learning and financial support is intended to help emerging creatives strengthen their professional capacity and explore opportunities for growth within the music industry.

The Accra edition will feature mentors with experience across music production, performance, songwriting, artist management, music journalism and event curation.

Among the mentors are Juls, a DJ and producer; Gyakie, an artist; M.anifest, a rapper, songwriter and producer; Therese Ohemaa Akua Jones, a manager and music executive; and Maxwell Adjevon, a music journalist, event curator and founder of iMullar.

Their involvement is expected to expose participants to different professional perspectives on the music business, from developing an artistic identity and producing music to managing talent, building industry relationships and navigating the commercial side of creative work.

The programme will also feature practical workshops, panel discussions and networking sessions. These activities are designed to encourage knowledge-sharing, strengthen participants’ understanding of the industry and create opportunities for collaboration among emerging and established professionals.

For artists and other music creatives, access to professional networks and experienced mentors can play an important role in career development. Beyond artistic ability, building a sustainable career often requires an understanding of branding, audience development, professional management, partnerships and the business structures that support the music industry.

By bringing participants into direct contact with established practitioners, Martell Swift Academy aims to create an environment where emerging talent can gain practical knowledge and build relationships that may support their long-term ambitions.

The initiative also provides an opportunity for participants to connect with peers working across different areas of the creative sector. Such connections can encourage collaboration, introduce new ideas and help creatives identify potential partners for future projects.

The move to Accra further extends the academy’s presence across Africa following its launch in Nairobi. The programme reflects an effort to connect emerging African creatives with industry expertise, professional resources and opportunities to develop their work.

For Ghanaian music professionals seeking to improve their skills, receive mentorship and expand their industry networks, the Accra edition presents an opportunity to engage with experienced practitioners while learning alongside other emerging creatives.

Interested applicants can find further information about eligibility, the application process and programme details through the official website and social media platforms.

About Maison Martell

Founded by Jean Martell in 1715, Maison Martell is the oldest of the great cognac houses and is internationally recognised for the finesse and elegance of its cognacs. Its reputation is built on a tradition of craftsmanship, known as savoir-faire, that has been passed down through nine generations.

The house combines a strong attachment to its terroir with a commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. It has also established a reputation for challenging convention through the creation of distinctive cognac expressions, including Martell Cordon Bleu, introduced in 1912.

The swift, which serves as the house’s historic emblem, represents its free spirit and connection to boldness and movement. That symbolism also provides the inspiration for Martell Swift Academy, the talent development platform supporting emerging creatives.
