Chief Executive Officer of Afro-Arab Properties, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has pledged to support President John Dramani Mahama’s housing agenda by helping accelerate the delivery of affordable homes across Ghana.
The commitment was made when President Mahama visited the Afro-Arab Properties exhibition booth at the just-ended National Homeownership Conference.

Alhaji Salamu Amadu told the President that Afro-Arab Properties was ready to support his ambition of becoming known as “John the Builder” by increasing investment in affordable housing.
“Mr. President, if your wish is to become John the Builder, I am ready to help you build,” he said.
He disclosed that Afro-Arab Properties has a long-term vision to build 200,000 affordable and sustainable homes across Ghana by 2050.
According to him, the target could be achieved much faster through stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector, particularly through the government’s district housing programme.
“With the Government’s district housing programme and the right partnership between government and the private sector, I believe we can achieve this vision much faster,” Alhaji Salamu Amadu said.
He said Afro-Arab Properties was prepared to work with government, financial institutions, development partners and other private-sector stakeholders to increase the supply of decent and affordable housing across the country.
The company believes that combining its affordable housing model with the government’s housing initiatives could help address some of the challenges facing prospective homeowners.

A key feature of Afro-Arab Properties’ model is its low-entry payment structure, which allows eligible buyers to make a minimum down payment and spread the remaining balance over five years without interest, subject to the terms of individual projects.
Alhaji Salamu Amadu said the model was designed to make homeownership more accessible to working families who may struggle to raise large lump-sum payments or qualify for traditional mortgage financing.
According to the company, President Mahama welcomed the commitment and expressed the government’s willingness to support credible private-sector initiatives aimed at expanding access to affordable housing.
Afro-Arab Properties says it plans to expand its housing projects across the country as part of its 200,000-home vision, while promoting environmentally responsible development.
The company’s housing vision is captured in its message, “Everyone Can Buy a House,” while its commitment to sustainable development is reflected in the philosophy, “Afro-Arab is Green.”
