Mr. Eugene Ebenyi, a member of the Forum for African Journalists (FAJ), has been appointed to the Ebonyi State Library Board by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Ebenyi, who is among the Nigerian members of the continental media group made up of journalists from print, electronic and online media across Africa, is an experienced journalist known for his professionalism and efficiency.
Following his appointment, Ebenyi expressed appreciation to Governor Nwifuru for finding him worthy of serving on the board. He pledged to work closely with other members to ensure that libraries in Ebonyi State receive the needed attention and resources to contribute to the state’s educational and socio-economic development.
“We will work hard to ensure that Governor Nwifuru’s government is remembered as the administration which reinvented Ebonyi libraries to drive education, preserve culture, foster civic participation and boost economic growth by giving all citizens free and equal access to information,” Ebenyi said.
He further commended Governor Nwifuru for what he described as his commitment to improving education and reading habits among the people of Ebonyi State.
“With the inauguration of the State Library Board, Governor Nwifuru has once again demonstrated his habitual and penchant disposition towards improved reading attitudes of Ebonyi people and their overall educational standard from all fronts,” he stated.
Ebenyi, who is also the Acting Director of Information at the Ebonyi State Ministry of Information, called on the people of Ebonyi State to continue supporting and praying for the Governor as he leads the state.
He expressed confidence that the administration would continue working towards placing Ebonyi State among the leading states in Nigeria through sustained investment in education, information and other key areas of development.

Eugene Ebenyi Of FAJ Appointed Into Ebonyi State Library Board, Describes Nwifuru As Education-Friendly Governor
Mr. Eugene Ebenyi, a member of the Forum for African Journalists (FAJ), a continental media group made up of journalists in print, electronic and online media across the African continent, has been appointed into the Ebonyi State Library Board by the Governor of the State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Ebenyi, who is among the Nigerian members of the continental media group, is an experienced journalist whose hallmarks centre on efficiency and professionalism.
Thanking Governor Nwifuru for finding him worthy of the board appointment, Ebenyi promised to work with other members of the board to ensure that libraries, which are vital pillars in nation-building and centres of knowledge, receive adequate attention for Ebonyi State’s accelerated growth.
