5 country retail network expands to Ghana, bridging trade corridors and cultural design across Kigali, Nairobi, and Accra.
ACCRA, Ghana — September 26, 2026 — AfroQuality, a multi country physical retail and distribution platform dedicated to showcasing authentic, high quality African brands has officially opened its flagship store in Accra on Friday, September 25, 2026. The opening marks a landmark moment for Pan African retail, culture, and cross border trade.
The Accra shop opening follows the successful openings in Kigali, Rwanda, Dakar, Senegal, Nairobi, Kenya and with Lusaka, Zambia opening on October 1. This solidifies a multi city commercial network designed to scale authentic African brands across the continent. AfroQuality provides manufacturers, designers, publishers, and artisans with the infrastructure needed to reach regional and global markets.
Connecting Commerce with Cultural Identity
The Accra flagship houses a curated portfolio of independent producers, spanning apparel, footwear, accessories, and literature. The store features celebrated Ghanaian labels—BLKSTAR UTD, Wear Ghana, Love Ankara, Gold Coast Tokota, Cheery Concepts, Horseman, Fish & Plankton Books, and Kwadwoan Story Books—alongside continental brands such as Enda Sports Shoes, Ikojn, and Sandstorm (Kenya), Piesco Memory (Togo), Sonia Mugabo (Rwanda) and Aramweer Organics and KELAM (South Sudan) amongst others.
“Our new store in Accra is both an economic milestone and a cultural celebration,” said AfroQuality Founder, Saint Doe Tamakloe while delivering his remarks at the A&C Mall where the shop is located. “Under our founding ethos, ‘Buy African, Build Africa,’ we are building the physical retail infrastructure necessary for African manufacturers to thrive across borders. By uniting regional talent in a world class environment, we are accelerating intra African commerce while offering consumers an elevated lifestyle space”. Mr. Tamakloe adds that, “instead of every entrepreneur having to build a new route to market country by country, brands can leverage on an existing network to test markets, reach new customers and grow their revenues across borders”.
What does this mean to Ghana based designers and labels?
As part of the opening, there was a pop up sale by clothing brand Wear Ghana and Republic of Africa as well as shoes and leather apparel brand, Horseman – all three retailing via AfroQuality. Their Chief Executives Officers shared what the partnership means to the growth of their brand.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Horseman, Tonyi Senayah shares the view that, AfroQuality’s emergence solves one critical problem for African retail entrepreneurs – reaching markets outside their home country. In almost every conversation I’ve had about Horseman, I’ve been asked the same questions: “Do you export, which other African countries are you in?” he says, explaining that “the reality is that establishing a presence in other markets comes with a complex maze of distribution, retail, logistics, market access and other challenges that can be difficult for an individual business to navigate alone. Today, when I’m asked where else Horseman can be found, I can proudly say Kigali, Nairobi and Dakar, through our partnership with AfroQuality”.
Awura Abena Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer and Co Founder of Wear Ghana and Republic of Africa agrees and adds that “many African fashion businesses struggle to scale because the distribution infrastructure simply isn’t strong enough, and this is why the work AfroQuality is doing is so critical – solving distribution at scale and making it easier for African brands to reach African consumers”.
