Ghana’s premier family-focused event, Fam Affair 2026, is set to return for its second edition on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the University of Ghana Campus under the theme, “Technology and Family Life – Navigating the Digital Age.”
Following the success of its maiden edition last year, this year’s event promises impactful discussions, wellness activities, expert insights, entertainment, and practical solutions aimed at strengthening family bonds and promoting healthy family living in an evolving digital world.
Fam Affair is a transformational initiative curated by KMT Versatile Bureau to commemorate the International Day of Families while promoting the empowerment of families as a foundation for societal development.
The initiative is aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including goals 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 11, and 16. Organizers say the mission behind the event is to transform lives by supporting families through education, innovation, partnerships, and entertainment.
This year’s theme seeks to explore the growing influence of technology on family relationships, communication, parenting, and overall family dynamics in today’s digital age.
Participants will engage in discussions on pressing issues affecting modern families, including economic stress, youth unemployment, mental health challenges, limited access to mental health services, health screening and counseling, and the effects of digital lifestyles on family wellbeing.
The event will also feature practical workshops designed to equip families with the necessary tools and strategies to thrive in a rapidly changing technological environment.
A number of distinguished personalities and experts are expected to speak at the event, including Her Excellency Simone Giger, Swiss Ambassador to Ghana; Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister of Gender, Social and Child Protection; Dr. and Mrs. McCarthy of Sinell Hospital and Christian Vine School; Rev. Mrs. Rita Korankye Ankrah; Albert and Comfort Ocran; alongside a special family interview session expected to inspire and motivate participants.
One of the major highlights of Fam Affair 2026 will be the Family Business Master Class, which will feature seasoned business leaders from second and third-generation family businesses sharing practical insights on sustaining and growing family enterprises successfully across generations.
Beyond the educational sessions, the event will provide a vibrant family-friendly experience with exhibition stands showcasing products and services from local businesses, artisans, entrepreneurs, and service providers.
Patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy food, shop for products, network with businesses, and discover innovative services tailored to families and individuals.
Organizers are also calling on entrepreneurs, corporate organizations, and businesses to take advantage of the event by booking exhibition stands to showcase their brands and services to a large audience of families and influencers.
Fun-filled activities including fashion shows, musical chairs, face painting, toddler racing competitions, and a dedicated playground for children are expected to keep families entertained throughout the event. Awards will also be presented to winners of various fun challenge activities.
According to organizers, one of the emotional highlights of the event will be the support package to be offered to an identified and verified family in urgent need. The support will go towards health procedures, education, or business assistance to help improve the family’s quality of life.
